Chef Tip – Peeling Tomatoes

Chef Ernesto shows you how to easily peel the skin off tomatoes in today’s Chef Tips.


  1. Use a tomato corer to remove the cores from the tomatoes.
  2. With a paring knife, slice an X on the back side of the tomatoes.
  3. Boil water and blanch the tomatoes for about 30 seconds.
  4. Remove the tomatoes and submerge them in a bowl of ice-cold water to stop the cooking process.
  5. When cool enough to handle, peel the skin of the tomatoes. The skin should peel off easily!
