Here is an excerpt from the article by Braelyn Wood of Pacific Business News:

Y. Hata & Co. is opening a new division named ChefZone, adding cash-and-carry distribution to the Honolulu-based food distributor’s portfolio.

Chairman and CEO Russell Hata said he intends to bring the company’s mission of “food service beyond expectation” to ChefZone, which in addition to selling wholesale foods will include a demonstration kitchen, tabletop showroom and “Entrée-preneurship Center.”

ChefZone will employ 40 people with positions such as buyer, cashier and stock clerk still open.

It will be located at 2888 Ualena St., about a mile from the current Y. Hata warehouse.
